Dr. Thomas Doherty is an expert on developmentally appropriate ways to approach environmental education and climate coping with young children, teens, young adults, and elders. In school settings, he provides a positive and reassuring presence and also helps students build the resilience and tenacity to take on long-term and difficult goals. His book Surviving Climate Anxiety is designed to be used as a primary or secondary text in classes from high school through graduate school, and is useful for any course that requires students to take on challenging material about environmental problems and reflect on their own identity or lifestyle.
